J3’s 4th Birthday Party

We almost forgot to sing

J3 had his first “friends” birthday party this year.  He invited 3 friends for grilled cheese sandwiches and french fries.  The kids also cut out and decorated their own cookies and got some cool “body paintings”!  Check out the picture gallery by clicking on the thumbnail to the left!

J3 is ready for the game!

The Brauns sent us a nice box of goodies this week, just in time for J3’s birthday.  The kids were super excited about opening their presents, so we had to take a few photos.  Also, Thea and I got some goodies as well: a sweet Packers hat and keychain for Thea, and a funny t-shirt highlighting some lesser-known facts about Chuck Norris for me.  Check out the picture gallery by clicking on the thumbnail to the left!  Thanks Aaron, Robyn, Dani, and Clayton!

Layin’ Pipe

Trenching from the new well to the old well, where we connected up to the existing pipes leading to the house.

Last week our old well finally ran dry.  They had warned us about it when we moved in, and so we had a new well dug last year.  It was a rather wet year, however, and we were never able to get the new well hooked up.  So now we were in a bit of an emergency situation.  Fortunately we were able to get a neighbor who does excavating to come out on Monday.  He did the trenching for us and we got power and pipe out to the new well.  We now have 50 glorious pounds of constant water pressure due to our new water system being 100% functional!  Thanks also to Uncle Stan, who is staying with us for a week and who we were able to force into slave labor.  Check out some pictures from the day by clicking on the thumbnail to the upper-left of this post, or by clicking on the post title.  Or, if you can already see all the thumbnails below, click on one of them to blow it up.

Autumn likes underwear… on her head

Underwear Where?

For some odd reason, Autumn thinks it’s really funny to wear underwear around her neck or on her head.  The trick is keeping the dirty underwear away from her…

Happy Thanksgiving To All You Canadians, Eh?

Tena got creative with the Rice Krispies treats. Her initial attempt (at turkey-shaped treats) didn't work out as well.

Here’s hoping that all the Canadians reading this have/had a happy Thanksgiving.  We had Clarence and Michelle’s clan over to the house after church yesterday.  The kids had a great time playing in the snow, and to my surprise actually managed to make some semblance of a snow man!

In the early evening, we headed over to Bernie and Martha’s for turkey dinner.  I must say that it was delicious!

On tap today will be the big Riders’ football game.  We will be watching on DVR’d delay after I am done working and when the kids go down for their nap.  It is a HUGE game as a win would put the Riders in a great position to claim a division title as we come down the stretch and head into the playoffs in a few weeks.

Enjoy our pictures from Thanksgiving after the jump.

Autumn Likes Coke

Yummmm[image title="Autumn after "getting her fix"." size="medium" id="50" align="left" alt="Cutie" linkto="viewer" ]

But really, can you blame her?  What’s not to like?  Actually, Autumn likes ANYTHING that she’s not supposed to have.

Autumn managed to suck the last few drops of Coke out of this 2L container.  The pictures turned out cute, so I thought I’d share them (with a special shout-out to Cephas, who is the biggest Coke-head I know).

More Roofing Fun

Steel Roof

Jack and I got another building roofed today.  We’re in a rush to get these buildings done because the snow will be flying soon!  It’s actually just above freezing now, and we just finished.  So the cold weather is already taking its toll!  The prognosticators have issued a Winter Storm Watch for tomorrow, and say that we are likely to get a few inches of snow.

We’ll be having Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, and Thea has been “Susie Homemaker” today while I’ve been crawling around up on the roof.  Turkey, dressing, sweet and mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, and pumpkin pies….     I can hardly wait (or stop drooling on my keyboard)!

B.A. Truck

My very good friend Terry Cartwright from Waukesha, WI operates an outreach ministry to his local truck/tractor pulling community.  Truck and tractor pulls are a BIG DEAL in south-east Wisconsin, and the B.A. Truck just completed its second season of exhibition wheel-stand pulling.

Check out his website (linked above).  This is truly one awesome machine, and one fantastic ministry.

Pics from Martha’s Birthday

Someone got a little 'generous' with the candles. But, hey, it's an easy mistake to make!

I don’t have too many, but there they are. Heather made it back from Regina for the occasion, and a good time was had by all!

Aunt Martha’s Birthday!

(Posted from my iPhone)
It’s the big birthday party tonight! Delicious lasagna is on the menu. I plan to eat more than my share.
Maybe I will post some pictures tomorrow (if I’m not still too bloated).
